Pancakes are yummy |
On Tuesday, 4th of March, I was walking around my Uni (Tallinn University of Technology). I don`t do that much anymore, because I have no lessons and I´m concentrating on writing my thesis. So I was walking around and just for kicks, I stepped into Students House. It`a place in Uni where studentns can relax, chill, sit down, learn, play games and have a drink. And suddenly someone said "Hello"
When I turned my head to see where this greeting was coming from, I saw a group of foreign exchange students. We have plenty of those in TUT since we are opened and well known university, probably. So they greeted my and invited me to play cards. I joined, because I had nothing better to do at the moment and it looked like fun. So we played cardgames, had a chat and so on. When we finished, they suddenly gave my a flaier and invited me to a pancake party on Friday 7th. I was quite suprised, because like I said earlier, I don`t get invited out a lot and these people had just met me. I took the flayer and accepted the invitation, I may be the "Socially akward penguin" type of guy, but I`m also kind of "yes-man" type of guy, who when given a chance, grasps it.
On Friday evening I made myself neat and clean and stepped towars the place When I arrived, it came out that I was amongst the first ones. Typical me. Hosts and other people greeted me and introduced themselves, unfortunately I have already forgotten most of names, I have a bad memory for names, but good memory for faces. After that they asked me what kind of pancakes I like. It was a pancake party after all and they were already busy making them. So I ordered my pancakes with ham and cheese, I like salty pancakes more than sweet ones. They made very good pancakes, I liked them. But there is a small twist. I put Nutella, whipped cream and bananas on my ham and cheese pancake. Others were like "What the hell, you actually like this way" And I was like "Yes I do, I`m crazy like that." And honestly cheese-ham-Nutella-whipped cream-banana combo realy is tasty, atleast I like it.
After the panckes were eaten, games played and all the people had arrived, we sat down for a group discussion. The discussion was about Jesus and how some people have found God for themeselves. Turned out that some members of the group were Christians. I`m not a very religious person, but it was still interesting for me to listen. It`s great that some people truely believe in something, have someone or something to rely on and are not afraid to share their views and opinions. One of the host later admited that this event was published as a pancake party on purpose, otherwise some wouldn`t have come. Maybe this is true, if I had been invited to a group discussion instead of chill and relax party I would have hesitated. But now that I know these people, and they seem nice, I would go to an event hosted by them, because know I know that they are cool and good persons.
